Grey Badges on Facebook are Gone!

Have you heard?

Facebook gray verified badges for business pages are officially gone! So, what does this mean for you?

Essentially, you might have gone through the application process to earn your gray verified check mark. This makes your business page look credible and shows that you are who you say you are. However, with this change comes some extra effort that has to go into maintaining your credibility. 

As Facebook makes this transition and updates their process, we will let you know!
Until then, here are 7 tips for making this change as seamless as possible for you:

1. Add your location

If you have a physical location, this is an important one! Make sure your address is listed on your Facebook page and that it's accurate. This helps people find you when they are searching for nearby places to visit.

2. Make sure you have a profile picture or cover photo

A business looks significantly more credible if you have a good profile picture. This can be a logo, or a picture that represents your business well. However, we recommend a logo. Additionally, you should also find a good cover photo or video. Videos are often a better way to gain attention, but if you don't have access to a quality video, a cover photo will be just fine.

3. Add your website to your Facebook 

Chances are, you're trying to drive as much traffic to your website as possible. So, might as well accomplish two things at once by adding your website to your Facebook page. You will appear to be more credible, and you will send more traffic to your website. Win, win!

4. Update your hours

We have grown accustomed to a world where information is easily accessible and dictates our decisions. Because of this, it is important to keep your hours updated and readily available. There's nothing more frustrating than driving all the way to an establishment, just to find out that their displayed hours were wrong. Happy customer, happy life, right?

5. Utilize the recommendations feature 

You want to gain the trust of potential customers, and in order to do that, you need to allow space for previous customers to rate and comment on your services. Seeing positive comments from previous customers boosts the credibility of your company. In order to accomplish this, you might want to ask your customers to recommend you on Facebook.

6. Seek more followers

Encourage friends, family, and customers to like your page. If a page only has two likes, it might raise some concern for someone looking at your company on Facebook. But if they see that hundreds or thousands of people like your company, they are going to trust you and your product/service even more.

7. Choose what categories best represent your business

This helps people find you when they are searching for a certain industry. If you choose your categories well, your business will pop up when someone searches for your category.
